Dear Friends,

The 1999 year has been a good one for us at Cross 'N Patch, and we hope that yours has been as well. I am excited about living in the next century.

Even though my designs are created in the time honored tradition of paper and pencil, needle and thread. I am excited by the technological advances being made everywhere we turn. My photographer and printer have kept pace with the changes. I have embraced and upgraded computers and programs whenever a change had the potential to present the designs in a better way.

As technology advances, I think that we will find more people turning to the parts of their lives that represent an enduring value. Those who have enjoyed needlework will continue to do so. They will continue to spend the leisure time they have doing needlework.

L130 FIRST STEPS - will be a must for any needleworker's library. I have been listening to you as you have described what you need in a beginning Hardanger book. And I have been watching my needlework students as they take their first steps. This "how to" book will help you as you teach classes, and it will help your students move confidently through the first steps in Hardanger. Watch for the book in January. The designs are small, beautiful, and designed as confidence builders.

It is also a good source of small projects and gift ideas for the more advanced customers.

One of the projects is "open-ended" and provides a space for the techniques they can learn in L96 Embellishments and L125 the Unfinished Sampler

L131 I WILL WEAR LAVENDER - There's no poetry in this book. You will, however, find great designs for anyone who loves to gather the "treasures" and "toys" for needlework. There is a wearable scissor/eyeglass case, an accompanying needle/tool pocket, plus other lovely goodies. Watch for it soon after L130 First Steps.
